Is Romney a Romnicorn?
17,000 people have signed a petition asking whether Romney is secretly a unicorn. They’re awaiting the Arizona investigation that may determine he is ineligible to be on the ballot.
As one of those 17,000, I will not be satisfied until we know the truth.

Meet Bill: The 91-Year-Old Decorated WWII Veteran Targeted By Florida Governor Rick Scott’s Voter Purge
Bill Internicola is a 91-year-old, Brooklyn-born, World War II veteran. He fought in the Battle of the Buldge and recieved the Bronze Star for bravery. He’s voted in Florida for 14 years and never had a problem.
Three weeks ago, Bill received a letter from Broward County Florida stating “[Y]ou are not a U.S. Citizen” and therefore, ineligible to vote. He was given the option of requesting “a hearing with the Supervisor of Elections, for the purpose of providing proof that you are a United States citizens” or forfeit his right to vote.
This decorated World War II veteran is just one of hundreds of fully eligible U.S. citizens being targeted by Governor Scott’s massive voter purge just prior to this year’s election, according to data obtained from Florida election officials by ThinkProgress. The purge list, according to an analysis by the Miami Herald, targets mostly Democrats and Hispanics.
Can someone explain to my why this is happening if voting doesn’t matter?
About 58 percent of those identified as potential noncitizens are Hispanics, Florida’s largest ethnic immigrant population. They make up just 13 percent of the overall 11.3 million active registered voters.
Are they really serious with this shit? At this point, I don’t even know why I’m surprised anymore.

Four George Zimmerman witnesses change their stories
Four key witnesses for George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin in February, made major charges to their stories of the incident in what could be a key moment in the second-degree murder case.
According to The Orlando Sentinel, the witnesses were reinterviewed in mid-March after Sanford, Florida police turned the case over to State Attorney Norm Wolfinger. A young woman identified as witness number two altered her original story of seeing two guys running close to each other in the dark to seeing just one person running and hearing him more than she saw him.
A young mother identified as witness number 12 was originally unsure whether Zimmerman or Martin were on top of one another on the ground after the shooting. However, six days later she was definitive on Zimmerman being the one on top.
Witness number six was a man who originally indicated that Martin was on top of Zimmerman and punching him in the face while Zimmerman called for help on the ground. Three weeks later, the man stated he was now uncertain on if Martin was throwing punches or keeping Zimmerman on the ground, but did continue to say Martin was on top.
A fourth person identified as witness number 13, who came outside his house to observe what happened, talked to Zimmerman after the shooting and analyzed his behavior.
The man originally said that Zimmerman had a shocked reaction toward shooting Martin, saying he “was beating up on me, so I had to shoot him” and told him to call his wife Shellie Zimmerman about what happened. However, in his second account, witness number 13 said that Zimmerman was rather nonchalant about shooting Martin.
All four witnesses will be interviewed again before the trial begins.

Obama wins irrelevant democratic primary, conservatives amuse themselves by saying he lost 40% of the vote
So, like Republicans, the Democrats have election primaries. But when the sitting president is a Democrat, they’re not particularly interesting. Every now and then some asshole will get enough signatures to run against the current POTUS, and they’ll get some votes, and we all have a good laugh at their folly. Most people don’t bother to vote in primaries where the winner is already obvious.
In Kentucky, you can choose “Uncommitted” on the primary ballot. Roughly 40% of voters did just that, and now conservatives are going on about “Two in 5 Democrats didn’t vote for Obama!!!!” He still won though. So yeah.
Again: most people don’t bother to vote in primaries when their party is running for reelection. On the other hand, people who want to voice their displeasure with the current president might come out to the polls to make a point. So these results are flawed and stupid and irrelevant. (Has Kentucky ever even gone blue?)
they do understand that 40% is less than 60% right? right?

“I’m not a birther. I believe the president was born in Hawaii — or at least I hope he was. But my responsibility as secretary of state is to make sure the ballots in Arizona are correct and that those people whose names are on the ballot have met the qualifications for the office they are seeking.” - Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, attempting to go full Arpaio, says he has contacted Hawaii state officials to verify President Obama’s birth certificate.
Bennett says he’s not a birther, claiming requests from constituents led him to investigate whether or not Obama should appear on Arizona’s ballot in November. In a recent radio interview, when asked if he would exclude Obama from the ballot if Hawaii doesn’t respond to his request, he replied, “That’s possible. Or the other option would be I would ask all of candidates, including the president, maybe to submit a certified copy of their birth certificate. But I don’t want to do that.”
Since, you know, the President has never shown proof of his birth and Hawaii has never responded to this inquiry before.

[Trigger Warning: Homophobia, Heterosexism] You might want to look at this
Oh dear Lord! It is 28:57 of pure hatred and stupidity. It’s a “documentary” by the Family Research Council called “The Problem with Same-Sex Marriage”. Here’s the description:
The Problem with Same-Sex “Marriage” is a documentary that shows in heartbreaking detail what happens when marriage is redefined. We follow the stories of David and Tonia Parker and Robb and Robin Wirthlin as their religious liberties run headlong into political correctness and pro-homosexual instruction in their public schools. This documentary will open your eyes to the pattern of intolerance and intimidation toward those espousing marriage as the union of one man and one woman. This documentary will also equip you to know your rights, and to make a difference in you community.
There’s a lot of hate, homophobia, and just pure wrongness contained within this video. Proceed with extreme caution.

Missing: 11-year-old Jerry Walker (CALI)
Two days after an 11-year-old boy slipped out of his West Oakland group home, police continue to search for him, Oakland police said Friday.
Sgt. Chris Bolton, chief of staff to Police Chief Howard Jordan, said the boy remains missing and the public’s help is needed in finding Jerry Walker. He was last seen about 6:45 p.m., Wednesday by staff members at Greater New Beginnings Group Home at 1625 Filbert St. in West Oakland.
Jerry is a student at Lacheim School in Richmond but had not shown up for school Thursday or Friday, Bolton said. Information about why he lives in a group home was not released.
He is considered a “missing person at risk” because of his age, authorities said.
Police described Jerry as a black child, about 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighing roughly 90 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information about the boy’s whereabouts can call the Oakland Police Department Youth and Family Service Division at 510-238-3641.
